Episode 3 and 4 recaps delayed

Hi, Bachelor Nation.

It’s been a crazy week for me.

First, we had two episodes this week which was overwhelming. This was probably the most entertaining week to date since I started writing about the show. I’m looking forward to covering it.

Second, I live in California and the presidential primary was this week. It was a big deal for me. I haven’t spoken about it much but I’m pretty politically active (as much as I can be from my house that is).  When I first started this blog it was originally supposed to be a blog about everything that interests me but I’ve spent a good deal more time writing about the Bachelor franchise than anything else I care about.

I consider this election to be critically important to the future of this nation and the world. I will be writing about the election as it develops. I was going to write about it last week because I got my name on the front page of the L.A. Times for being a perpetual contributor to Bernie Sanders’s campaign. I was contacted by a reporter investigating who the people are who give the small donations to his campaign and I wrote a short essay for her about why the poor have donated so much to a political campaign. She liked it enough that she quoted me. But I got tired and didn’t post the story. I will probably still write about it. I don’t know when though.

I know I have quite a few subscribers who may not be interested in reading articles about politics and only want to read my recaps of the Bachelor franchise. I can’t control which articles go out to subscribers and which don’t so I will put something at the top of the article letting you know that it’s not a Bachelor article.

I also want to be clear that I have no interest in fighting about politics. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that a 40-year-old woman raised in Los Angeles is a “commie liberal.” I know some people who read my blog may not share my beliefs. That’s fine. I don’t need people to agree with me and I hope you won’t think less of me for not agreeing with you. I won’t think less of you. I’m not a big fan of the brutal fights that happen on the internet that divide people into political factions and leave people feeling angry, stressed, hurt, and misunderstood and lead to the violence and threats of violence we’ve seen this campaign season. We need that at this time in history like we need a collective hole in the head. I’m a fan of political passion but not at the expense of respect for the dignity and the right to freedom of thought of our fellow human beings.

You are welcome to read my articles and discuss the issues I bring up if you want but I do understand that a lot of you have subscribed to read my recaps of the Bachelor. I will try not to annoy you with my political posts.

The third thing that happened this week is I had a really important doctor’s appointment. I have a pretty severe digestive disorder and I don’t have a lot of energy so going to the doctor for me is an all day affair.

And finally, I have the flu and I have been barely able to move since Thursday.

Since we don’t have an episode this week, I am planning to work on both recaps for last week over the weekend and during next week. I’ll start this weekend. Hopefully, I’ll have a recap up by Tuesday and another one by Friday.

Thank you for your patience. To quote Chad, life isn’t always blueberries and paper airplanes. 😀
