Bachelor In Paradise 2015: Week Two Recap

After Paradise

As if it weren’t enough to have to sit through 3 hours a week of the meandering story lines with no clear outcome in mind of Bachelor In Paradise, now we get another hour of an after show to talk about what just happened on the show. Oy.

I’m not going to go into too much detail. The guests were Chris’s co-host, a famous New York Times columnist who Tweets about all things Bachelor Nation and one of the stars of “Burning Love”, a parody of the Bachelor/ette franchise.

They talked a lot about Joe and Chris made it seem like Joe’s behavior was a total shock to everyone. Whatever.

Tenley came on to talk about her love square (as opposed to a love triangle where there are three people involved. There are three men fighting for her affections).

They brought on Jonathan to talk about how he felt about Joe’s behavior and he was pissed that he went against his gut and failed to protect Juelia. He was also pissed that Joe used his son to manipulate him and declared their friendship dead and buried.

Ashley S. came on to address allegations of being crazy. The guy from Burning Love said she wasn’t crazy, she was like Yoda. Ashley claimed to not know who Yoda is. America voted 75 to 25 that Ashley is crazy like a fox and not actually crazy.

I like Ashley S. and Dan together. Dan is a sharp guy so I don’t think he’d be really interested in Ashley if she didn’t have something going on upstairs no matter how well she tries to hide it.

One of these weeks the next Bachelor is going to be announced on the After Paradise show. I’m 99% certain it’s Ben H.

So I’ll keep watching for that.

  2. Thanks for another perspective! Looking forward to reading your take too. (I caught you at the IHGB site.) I haven’t read RD, but enough others that were way too mean (bye-bye someguy) in my opinion as well.

    Just wanted to suggest that it wasn’t because Jonathan was black, token or otherwise, but maybe’s because he’s just too sweet, as opposed to balls-out manly, or somewhere in between.

    Thanks for the comment! Really appreciate it when readers take the time to give me feedback.

    I’ve gotten a lot of visitors from IHGB so I’ll be linking to her site in my next post as well as a couple others I like. A lot of the blogs just seem like ad generators. RS has real content on his site but I can barely read it because the ads just bog down my site. I’m not saying I’ll never put ads on my site but I’ll never do it at the expense of the user experience.

    RS was way too cruel to Kaitlyn though over the season. He mocked her laugh among other things and I just can’t get behind that. Mocking someone’s laugh is one of the cruelest things you can do IMO. It’s how we express joy. Even if someone’s laugh annoys us, I think it best to just stick to the idea that in that case if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

    I’m not sure what to say about Jonathan but I do know that the black contestants never make the connection the way the other contestants do. I don’t know if the other people/leads on the show just aren’t into black or what. To me, Jonathan is a very good-looking guy and he does seem sweet but history tells me after having watched this show from the beginning that the black contestants go home.

    I wish Juelia had given him her rose over Joe but I can promise you, as much as the show is making Joe an outcast, they could have sent him packing if they wanted to. But they didn’t because the Joe and Samantha thing is what gets people talking around the water cooler. That’s what brings in the ratings and it’s why Joe and Samantha got a free trip to Paradise to “meet”.
